4 Must Watch Food Documentaries

1. Cowspiracy

This is where it all started for me. I am a big documentary head, I can watch them all day, aside from reading books of course. The first documentary I saw about food, and really woke me up about my lifestyle was Cowspriacy. I saw it with my dad. I didnt even plan to watch it, it was one of those situations where our WiFi was down, and we turned on the TV and BOOM! My life changed forever. It isn't just about cows, it is about saving the planet, which is something I am very passionate about. We live in a world where animal agriculture is at an all time high, and that affects our enviroment emensely. The documentary is not only funny but it is educating as well, and that combo is what makes it a big sucess. Visit; http://www.cowspiracy.com/ to learn more about this documentary.

2. Super Size Me

Oh Ma Gosh! You guys this documentary is crazy okay! I don't care how much money you pay me, I will never force myself to eat so much junk all day, and all night, for a damn movie. I just can't, but this guy can! Morgan Spurlock, ate 3 times a day, for 30 days, from February 1 to March 2, 2003 during which he ate only McDonald's. When I tell yall he blew up, homeboy blew up!  He was 32 years old at that time, and after his "social experiment" he gained 24 and 1/2 pounds, a 13% body mass increase, a cholesterol level of 230, and experienced mood swings, sexual dysfunction, and fat accumulation in his liver. It took him fourteen months to lose the weight gained using a vegan diet supervised by his future wife, a chef who specializes in gourmet vegan dishes. Thank Gawd for her! I stumbled upon this documentary on Youtube, but you can watch on various platforms. Let's just say I will never look at Mcdonalds the same way every again!

"I am not Lovin it!" lol

3. Forks Over Knives

Cancer is real you guys! I have lost so many people close to my family from cancer and it freakin sucks. This documentary is all about how we view our food and our health. What happens when we reject animal-based foods, and if doing so can help reverse or even prevent diseases like cancer and diabetes. Our younger generation is already developing adult diseases caused by food and it makes me so concerned. You turn on the TV and see all these children dying from malnourishment, and then you turn around and see children developing cancer in their adult life and you start to wonder who really has a problem. This was how Dr. Campbell, a nutritional scientist at Cornell University felt. Wealthier children, who were consuming relatively high amounts of animal-based foods, were much more likely to get liver cancer. Dr. Esselstyn, a top surgeon and head of the Breast Cancer Task Force at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, found that many of the diseases he routinely treated were virtually unknown in parts of the world where animal-based foods were rarely consumed. This is a much watch! Their website is loaded with so many interesting things to really get you motivated to change your lifestyle. https://www.forksoverknives.com/

4. GMO OMG!

This documentary talks about a father of three who raises the alarm on how GMO's affect out enviroment, our children, and our freedom of choice. One word Monsanto! Let me give you a brief history on this devil of a company. Founded by John Francis Queeny in 1991 the company first ever product sold to Coca-Cola was a chemical called saccharin, an aritfical sweetner. The government knew saccharin was poisonous and sued to stop it being produced worldwide sadly they lost in court, opening the Monsanto Pandora’s Box to begin poisoning the world through the soft drink.

To them it is all about money above human health. They have expanded their produce to GMO seeds, foods, you name it! Aspartame which is found in various coke drinks, cause mania, rage, violence, blindness, joint-pain, fatigue, weight-gain, chest-pain, coma, insomnia, numbness, depression, tinnitus, weakness, spasms, irritability, nausea, deafness, memory-loss, rashes, dizziness, headaches, seizures, anxiety, palpitations, fainting, cramps, diarrhea, panic, burning in the mouth. Diseases triggered/mimicked include diabetes, MS, lupus, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, tumors, miscarriage, infertility, fibromyalgia, infant death, and even Alzheimer’s according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

In this world of advertising, it is so easy to get caught up with all the latest trends, latest food additions, that we forget about our own health. A fast food commercial is not going to show you how your meal got on the plate, because if they did you would look the other way.

Education is very important but "Fooducation" as I like to call it, is not only our tool in fighting against these major companies, but it is our human right!

As my dad would say. "Point, Blank, and Period!".
